Organic products reduce public health risks to farm workers, their families, and consumers by minimizing their exposure to toxic and persistent chemicals on the farm and in food, the soil in which they work and play, the air they breathe, and the water they drink.
CBD
All the CBD products we offer undergo a comprehensive testing protocol to ensure quality and safety standards are met. These standards adhere to the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia (AHP) monograph on Cannabis. While the testing requirements vary from product to product and the production stage, each batch undergoes multiple rounds of testing which include cannabinoid potency, terpenes, heavy metals, pesticides, microbial contaminants, and residual solvents. Prior to processing, the hemp is tested for potency, heavy metals, and pesticides. Post-extraction, the raw oil is tested for these same analytes as well as residual solvents. If refined into CBD isolate, an additional potency and residual solvent test is conducted. Then, all final batches are tested by a third-party laboratory for potency and quality analysis.
SOAPS
Natural soap means a true soap made by saponifying plant-based whole oils (not isolated fatty acids). At Dutchman Apothecary, we only purchase certified organic soaps. Our manufacture adds no artificial substances to our soaps, such as synthetic fragrances, dyes, and preservatives, and where possible, they use organically grown products. The soap has organic a certification under the USDA's National Organic Program. The certifying agency is the Montana Department of Agriculture. Organic certification is a rigorous professional standard that must be validated and re-issued annually. Many skin care companies claim to sell organic products but are not officially certified. This official organic certification assures our customers that the ingredients, facility, and procedures truly support the organic status. All our soaps are scented with essential oils only, soaps are colored with a variety of organic herbs and plant derived products. It's easy to see the difference when using organic soaps. We work hard to deepen our relationship with our customers and partners to support their evolving needs, as well as the needs of the customers they serve. Our customer promises are what our customers can expect from us and our partners.
CANDLES
We believe what you breathe matters. What you breathe is also just as important as what you eat when it comes to your health. The mission of our candle manufacture is to create clean burning candles with simple, all-natural ingredients. Each of the ingredients used in their candle making process were hand-selected after careful research, including beeswax, coconut oil, natural essential oils, and wood wicks. You won’t find any petroleum byproducts, stabilizers, fragrance oils, or harmful dyes in these products. We’re proud to stand behind their non-toxic candles and are excited offer Fontana candles to our customers. They are the first to be MADE SAFE® certified! All of their candles are hand poured in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
The toxic truth about candles is hidden in plain sight. Conventional paraffin wax is derived as a byproduct of petroleum, coal, or oil shale and contains controversial and harmful chemicals such as benzene and toulene.
